LOT Polish Airlines launches a new regional route. Starting from today, planes operated by the Polish carrier will be connecting Krakow with Paris-Orly

On 31 March 2025, LOT Polish Airlines launched direct flights between Krakow and Paris-Orly.
For the first couple of weeks, the connection will be operated 6 times per week, but starting from April 14th it will be available daily, all year long.
The launch of the new connection between Krakow and the Orly Airport in Paris fits in with the strategy aiming to expand LOT’s offering available at regional airports in Poland.

The first flight between Krakow and Paris-Orly, operated by LOT Polish Airlines, took off on 31 March 2025. The ceremony inaugurating the connection, held at the Krakow Airport, was attended - among others - by Dariusz Klimczak, Minister of Infrastructure, Aleksandra Gajewska, Deputy Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy, and Michał Fijoł, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines.

For the first two weeks, flights from Krakow to Paris-Orly will be available 6 times per week (every day, with the exception of Tuesdays). From mid-April, planes of the Polish national carrier will be traveling on this particular route daily. Flight number LO337 will be taking off from Krakow at 5:00 pm, with the return leg (flight number LO338) scheduled to leave Paris at 8:30 pm. The flight time will be approximately 2.5 hours. The connection will be operated using comfortable and low-emissions Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.

The new route between Krakow and Paris-Orly is part of the strategy of reinforcing LOT’s offering at Poland’s regional airports. It is not only a comfortable way of traveling for tourists, but also an attractive option for entrepreneurs, as it fosters the establishment of business relations.

Krakow is one of the most popular tourist cities in Europe and the site of many French investments. Meanwhile, Paris is a global centre of culture and a leader in modern technology and innovation. I am convinced that the new connection will not only intensify tourist traffic between the two cities, but also further strengthen economic relations, especially as Orly Airport is very conveniently connected to the business districts of Paris, meaning more comfortable access for business travellers.

The John Paul II Airport is situated 11 kilometres west of downtown Krakow, in Balice. It is the second largest airport in Poland, serving over 11.1 million passengers per year.

France is one of the key destinations for Krakow and the entire Lesser Poland region. We estimate that the number of passengers traveling between Krakow and France will exceed 600,000 this year. We are absolutely certain that the new opportunity to enjoy Paris - with all its cultural, art-related and culinary richness - will be highly popular among our passengers. One also has to bear in mind that this particular destination is of key business significance as well. We have been attempting to launch this connection for a number of years now. The new route launched by LOT Polish Airlines will expand the offering of the Krakow Airport that will be now connected with three airfields in Paris - Charles de Gaulle, Beauvais-Tille and Orly.

Orly, with over 33 million passengers, is the second-largest airport in Paris, but is located nearest to the city centre - just 13 km from strategic points on the map of the French capital. Both airports play key roles in their respective regions, being important transport hubs and contributing to the local economy.

Capitals of culture, art and national heritage

The new route launched by LOT Polish Airlines connects two truly exceptional cities that share a lot of traits - despite their different histories and cultures. Now, courtesy of the new air connection, those similarities are even easier to discover. Paris is a location where history is interrelated with modernity, where art mingles with everyday life and where romanticism blends with dynamic energy. The term “city of lovers” was coined not only due to the romantic scenery that offers a perfect setting for walks along the Seine boulevards or for enjoying picture-perfect sunsets at the base of the Eiffel tower. In Krakow, the picturesque boulevards on the bank of the Vistula river and the cosy alleys of the Old City district are an ideal scenery for strolling, especially in the evening, when the city’s unique charm is unleashed.

Paris has long been attracting artists from all over the world, eventually becoming an avant-garde centre promoting new artistic trends. In the past, the famous Montmartre district lured the bohemian community and served as a source of inspiration for such creators as Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse or Ernest Hemingway. Krakow - with its Academy of Fine Arts - also was a destination of choice for renowned artists who studied and created in the city. The capital of the Lesser Poland region is known for its literary, artistic and cultural heritage. It was there where the greatest works by Wisława Szymborska and Stanisław Lem were conceived. Paris and Krakow are two cities in which local cafes still continue to play a very important role - both of them boast a rich tradition of artists and intellectuals meeting and discussing their ideas while enjoying coffee.

Both destinations are also well-known for their numerous historic landmarks and monuments, including the two magnificent Gothic cathedrals (Notre-Dame and St Mary’s Basilica) and pervasive art. The Louvre is home to one of the world’s most famous works of art - the ”Mona Lisa”, while the fans of Leonardo da Vinci may find it interesting that the sister painting, the “Lady with an Ermine”, may be admired in the Czartoryski Museum in Kraków. It is also worth remembering that both Paris and Krakow are teeming with parks and gardens. The Planty Park surrounding Krakow’s Old Town District and the Jardin des Tuileries, located between the Louvre and Place de la Concorde in Paris, are perfect destinations for relaxing in the heart of both cities.
